ALMOST PERFECT FOR WHAT i NEED.
By Rick Holly
These speakers are clean, clear powerful. Very tight and clean bass (no low end "mud". The speakers have a very useable eq section. They have low impedence in and outs that make joining two or more of these (or other active speakers) as easy as plugging in another low impedence mic cable and going to another speaker. This keeps the signal clean and you don't need to utilize additional outputs on your mixer.
The sound is great. I have owned a pair of Behringer (B212) active speakers and a JBL 15 inch speaker in a cabinet driven by a QSC amp for a few years and have generally been pleased with the sound but I was looking for more natural, punchier low end (and I hate lugging the very heavy QSC amp). These Mackie speakers have the sound I was looking for and are actually lighter than my smaller Behringer speakers. I am now useing the Behringers on stands with the Mackies on the floor (I leave the QSC and JBL cab home). It is a very big sound.
Note: After I bought one of these to try, I had trouble getting a second one. Everbody I contacted from Musicinsfriend, Sweetwater and Guitar Center, were all out out of stock and waiting for backorders. Don't be surprised if you hear this when buying these. They are currently a very in demand item. The price on these does not vary much and $350.00 is the going price across the board.

Nice sound
By Bigric
I purchased the Thumps after purchasing another brand from factory Direct which the woofer on one of the speakers stoped working during my first use. When I purchased the Thumps I connected them for a gig and guess what???!!! The woofer on one did not work!!! So I took a deep breath and said this can't be broken out of the box.. I took a little time, removed the mesh grill and then the woofer. Tada!!! The speaker wire had come loss from the woofer, so I tighten the connection and have been happy every since. They are clean, clear with a good amount of bottom. Will be looking for a powered sub to compliment the sound at a later date.

Greatest value on the market
By Clean Ol Dubby of the New Millenium
I'm a beginning DJ that had the capital to begin with the best equipment (Rane TTM57SL, Pioneer CDJ900s etc.) I did however go with what was considered a bargain cabinet when it came to these speakers. Actually I only bought one so far, and this thing can be heard from half a mile away. The bass is deep and crisp, with the 15 inch sub plenty enough to rattle a house, and the highs can be cranked to deafening plateaus. The speaker was only a few feet away from me at a house party and I found earplugs almost a necessity. My only gripe is the flashing OL indicator is on the back and not easy to see if illuminated. But for this particular price point, there is absolutely no way ANYONE can go wrong with buying a Mackie TH-15A.
