I bought these to hook up an RCA surround sound system, they are heavy and sturdy on both carpet and hard surface flooring. I was a bit leary when I saw reviews that said they didn't stand up well on carpet but I have had no problems...they are not bolted down to the floor so if you were to smack into them they would fall over - but seriously one should expect that to be the case. If you plan on wrestling about then perhaps you should attach your speakers to the wall. I did have one stand that must have had some flashing on the inside pole because it took a bit of engineering to get the speaker wire through but it eventually went and I had no issues with the other 3. These are working well and keeping all the wires neat which is a problem with speakers that you are standing around a room. I recommend these, you won't be disappointed.

Stands are well made, sturdy and look good. I was able to mount my Klipsch 500 surround sound speakers with ease. Minor issue were some left over burrs in the speaker wire holes. Had to remove burrs with a screwdriver to let my RCA 14 gauge wire pass through.
The stands are stable over carpet, and do not tip over easily.
Very happy overall with my purchase, and recommend them highly.

It seems that everywhere you look they sell speaker stands by the pair,for around $40. When I found these, (all 4 for under $45) I wasn't too sure what the quality was going to be like. I have to say that I am greatly pleased with these, they extend to around 4 ft high the bases aren't too big so they fit just about anywhere. They are not flimsy but rather sturdy and they are not unattractive. Thank for offering a great product at an affordable price.
