4Good for beginners!
By Thomas Watkins
I just started doing the whole producer/dj thing as a "working" hobby and I needed to get a system together that I could pretty much set and forget at a company picnic. (non-paying gig doesn't get the decks!) Since it was going to be outside I needed a speaker that could not only play music but allow for mic inputs. All of this was was available in this speaker. When an Ipod or 'zune' is connected the internal amp is nice, I was able to 'hear' the music way far away from where the setup was. Also, being a company picnic means kids, and this speaker is pretty durable, built like a tank!

During the gig, I did not experience the ipod shaking out of the dock, the speaker was up pretty loud. (used a nano 3rd gen ipod) With that said for my studio, this speaker runs into a 'minor' issue. I have an m-audio setup so i'm feeding the signal from fast track pro. When this speaker is connected, you can hear a whine or hiss coming from the speaker when no music is being played. I'm not sure if it's a combination of the fast-track and my computer, but all my other speakers that are connected are fine. (4 other monitor speakers)

Outside of this, my other problem with this speaker is the mids (not a problem when turned up obviously) but at lower levels it's not so good (studio-levels). But since it's a 2way and not a 3+ way, i'm not going to take off a star!

So if you are looking for a relatively cheap PA setup with versatility, then pick up this speaker, you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for something to quickly setup (another post also says this) get the music going and then hook up your decks, then this is a good speaker for you. If you are looking to use this speaker as a subwoofer for gaming/movies, you probably want to get those kinda speakers and not rely on this! ;)

Recap: Loud / good highs-lows / versatile / not heavy / decent build quality / buy = yes for djs / buy = meh for producers / buy = no for gamers

4Excellent Buy for the money
By Tony M
Great sounding speaker for the Money. The only drawback is if you rely on your audio source to be an ipod it shakes loose from the vibrations. The bass from these speakers is incredible, if your looking for a good pair of powered speakers for under $700 instead of $700 each for the JBL eon's don't look any further. I also purchased the pair of Pyle stands w/ bag and wires to go with these and they are excellent.

1Defective Amp
By HectorG
The ordering process was quick and easy. It was delivered within 3 days. Unfortunately I did not get to enjoy it for a day. After a few hours of using it, the internal amp blew. No output no matter what inputs I used and no matter how many times I recycled on/off. You can hear the speaker make a sound upon powering on but no sounds are produced. This is extremely disappointing. Just when it was sounding really good. The second issue was the ipod dock does not charge your ipod while using it. If you use RCA cables from Ipod to input side of speaker, the volume level is much lower. Now the worse part of this experience was I had to pay over $45.00 out of my pocket to send it back for a refund. How can I dare to risk buying again another product if I would have to pay shipping charges if it comes out defective?!Very unhappy with this experience!!!
