I bought two of these stands to (hopefully) hold up a pair of Crate speakers (15" woofers, horns and piezos) which are large, heavy, and a little awkward. When I unpacked the stands, I was a little afraid that such compact, light stands wouldn't be up for the job. Not to worry, they're solid! They handle the weight and size without flinching! Stands seem to be a bargain. Everything is very nice on this stand:
- Large weight capacity (box says 160 lbs).
- Sturdy seeming construction.
- 2 speaker hole size options 1-3/8" or 1-1/2" (with an adapter) diameter.
- large height range
- simple adjustment
Except:
- the collar that adjusts the spread of the three legs doesn't seem to tighten down enough. If you rock the stand with the speaker's weight on it, the spread of legs will creep narrower and narrower with each rock. Eventually it will be tippy. It might help if you put some kind of thin spacers between the collar and the support tube. But a proper product would not need that. It almost seems that the collar was designed for the larger speaker hole size tube - 1-1/2" not the 1-3/8" it actually is.
Anyone have a solution?

Very sturdy piece. Feels very secure.
Holding my EV zx1 powered speaker really well.
Glad I got it.
